Fort Myers Beach

Estero Island is seven miles of beautiful sandy beach overlooking the peaceful Gulf of Mexico, as well as the bayside estuaries of Matanzas Pass and Estero Bay. The island offers something for everyone. On the beach there are large beachfront homes as well as condominiums in high rises, lower than 5 stories, and coach style buildings. On the bayside, there are large homes on the water, condominiums in high rises, smaller associations, some offering boat dockage. Over the years, Fort Myers Beach has been a community where many families passed down properties over generations. Because of this, the growth of large estate homes has been slow, and the island has kept an easy-going attitude. At the end of September 2022, Hurricane Ian directly hit the island and the damage was unbelievable, with over 15’ of storm surge. The devastation was felt over a large area of Lee County. Because of this, the island is experiencing a huge shift in ownership. It will be years before we again see “normal” conditions. Our real estate market will see many changes over the next few years, and keep in mind with all the new buildings and revitalization, the future still looks wonderful for our little island.
