Shawn originally came to Southwest Florida after serving in Desert Storm. A former United States Marine, his family had just moved to Cape Coral in 1991. He later was recruited by Allstate Insurance Company and returned to his birthplace of Louisville, Kentucky in 1995. Wanting to get back to the sunshine and his family, he returned to Cape Coral in 2004. Ruth, his wife, also moved to Naples in 2003 from Indiana. They met in 2007 and were married in 2008. They have lived in Naples, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, and before Hurricane Ian, on Fort Myers Beach since 2018. Shawn has been a licensed Realtor since 2005. He originally started with REMAX Realty Team in Cape Coral, then became a broker in 2008 with his own office, Mariner Realty Group, in downtown Cape Coral. Through the years he and Ruth have flipped a few houses and Shawn has provided real estate brokerage services around Lee County. Along with being a licensed United States Coast Guard Master, Shawn has specialized in waterfront properties, as boaters have unique real estate needs for their vessels. Both Shawn and Ruth have an easy-going nature paired with a straightforward approach. Shawn uses his market knowledge and experience to provide the best advice and direction for his clients, while Ruth manages the administration of the office. Working together, this couple covers every aspect of their client’s relationship, through a successful closing and beyond. Many of their clients have become long-term friends.
In their free time, being avid boaters, they enjoy being out on the water aboard their IRISH LADY with their Yorkie, Daisy, who feels right at home in the office and on the boat.
